  • PhD, Chemistry, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah (2004)
  • BS, Chemistry, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea (1992)

My research focuses on understanding the size-dependent chemical and catalytic properties of catalysts, which are critically important for the development of tailored nanocatalyst.

I have been working on (1) the synthesis and manipulation of size-selected cluster based catalysts and (2) in-situ, real-time characterization of nanocatalysts with a broad range of experimental methods including TPD/R, GISAXS, EXAFS, LEED, Auger spectroscopy, x-ray and UV photoelectron spectroscopy, ion scattering, STM, electron microscopy, and IR spectroscopy.
